In addition to it’s unique aluminium modular ladder system, Alton Industries is also able to supply fixed access ladders manufactured from galvanised mild steel, stainless steel and GRP.

Galvanised Mild Steel

Manufactured in accordance with BS 4211 to the following specifications:

65mm x 10mm Flat section
Rungs
20mm dia. round bar
Width between stringers

Rung Centres
250mm
Maximum bracket centres
2000mm
After fabrication, ladders are hot dipped galvanised in accordance with BS 729.
Accessories include Safety cages, ‘Walk Through’ and ‘Retractable’ handles.

N.B. The above is our standard specification, however ladders fabricated from heavier section material are available.

Stainless Steel

Manufactured in accordance with BS 4211 from grade 316S31 stainless steel complying with BS 970 part 1.

Fibreglass

Manufactured from Poltruded sections of Polyester resin, GRP ladders conform to the dimensional requirements of BS 4211. Other specification for GRP ladders are available on request.
